Legal, Responsible, Regulated Cannabis
It is time for our County to realize that California voters overwhelmingly approved recreational Cannabis and that we must make safe access to recreational and medical Cannabis a reality. This industry has potential positive impacts on sustainable farming alternatives and economic opportunities for our workforce. There is significant research, funded by the National Institutes of Health, that opiate abuse decreases in states with legal Cannabis. In addition, emerging research demonstrates that youth drug use has actually decreased. Further, the tax revenue from a properly regulated supply chain will enable localized DUI research and support for other important County functions.
